AI front desk for home and local service businesses · Temecula Valley

The phone rings at 9:47 pm.
Somebody answers.

Old Vine Studio sets up and runs an AI receptionist for home and local service businesses — especially owner-operators who are on the job when the phone rings. It answers every call, takes the job request and sends it to your phone to approve, or rings your phone right away for emergencies. You decide who gets which time; it never commits your schedule.

How it works

Live in about a week, with almost none of your time

You give us 10 minutes by email. We do the setup, the testing and the weekly tuning.

  1. Quick intake

A short email form about your services, service area, hours, the prices you're comfortable quoting and how emergencies should be handled. No meetings needed.

    Day 1 · 10 minutes

  2. We build and test it

We write the script, load your FAQs, set your approval rules and run five test calls: a job request, a price question, an after-hours emergency, an out-of-area caller and "are you a robot?"

    Days 2–4 · our time

  3. Forward your calls

Start with busy and no-answer forwarding, so your phone still rings first. Every call the receptionist takes gets a summary sent to your phone.

    Day 5 · 5 minutes

  4. We tune it weekly

We read the transcripts, fix anything it handled poorly and update prices or hours whenever you tell us.

    Every week

Spam call screening · included free

Only real customers reach you

Robocalls, scam calls and “Google listing” sales pitches get screened out by your receptionist, so they never turn into alerts on your phone. You only hear about real customers, and your monthly report shows how many junk calls it caught for you. Included free on every plan.

Screening covers the calls your receptionist answers, meaning the calls you forward to it.

Every plan includes the phone line and the receptionist software. There is no separate software bill, and you keep your own business number. 500 minutes is about 150–250 calls, which many small shops forwarding missed and after-hours calls stay well under. Go over in a month and nothing changes: no charge, just a friendly heads-up. How call minutes work

Questions

What owners ask us first

Will callers know it's not a person?

Yes. It introduces itself as your business's AI assistant at the start of every call, speaks naturally and keeps the call short. Many callers care that somebody picked up and got their request to you.

Does it block spam calls?

It screens every call your receptionist answers (the calls you forward to it). Spam and sales calls are politely ended and never sent to you; real customers always come through.

Is this only for big trade companies?

No. It's built for home and local service businesses of any size, especially owner-operators who are on a job, under a car or up a ladder when the phone rings. Detailers, landscapers, pool techs, cleaners, handymen, locksmiths, groomers and more all get the same plans and prices.

What if it gets something wrong?

You get a summary of every call, and we read the transcripts each week and fix the script. It's set up to pass anything outside its script to you as a request or a transfer, rather than make up an answer.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. You keep your number and forward calls to the receptionist, usually only when you're busy or don't pick up. Turning it off takes one setting on your phone.

What happens with an emergency call?

You decide what counts as an emergency. Those calls go straight to your on-call phone, and if nobody answers, the receptionist takes the details, marks them urgent and sends an alert to your phone right away.

Who decides the appointment time?

You do. By default every call becomes a job request sent to your phone with the details and the caller's preferred times, and your team confirms the time. If you like, it can offer only the windows you open, and those still come to you to approve. Pause it, change hours or block a service any time by emailing us.

Is there a contract?

No. Plans are month to month and you can cancel any time. You keep your own business number, so stopping is one forwarding setting on your phone.

Who is behind Old Vine Studio?

Colton, based in Temecula. The person who sets up your receptionist is the same person you email when you want something changed, and you get an answer within one business day.

Policies

Billing, refunds, terms and privacy

Plain-language rules for working with Old Vine Studio. Updated November 2, 2026. Text messages are covered by our SMS terms.

Billing and cancellation

Plans are billed monthly in advance by card through Stripe, our payment processor. The Founding plan charges $99 at sign-up, which covers your first 30 days live: the 30 days start the day your receptionist goes live, not the day you pay. After that it is $149 a month. Standard charges a $299 one-time setup fee and $199 a month. Busy is $299 a month, with no new setup fee when you move up from Founding or Standard. The price you sign up at stays the same for as long as you stay subscribed, unless you choose to change plans. Cancel any time from the billing link in your receipt or by emailing OldVineStudio@gmail.com; you won't be charged again, and service runs to the end of the period you paid for. The phone line and receptionist software are included in your plan; there is no separate software bill.

Call minutes

We host your receptionist and pay for its call minutes. Founding and Standard include 500 minutes a month (about 150–250 calls), Busy includes 1,500, and above that we quote a custom plan. If you go over in one month, nothing changes and nothing is charged; we send you a friendly heads-up with your minutes. If you go over two months in a row, you choose: move up a plan, or we help you narrow what gets forwarded (for example, after-hours only). Calls are never cut off mid-month and there are no surprise charges. Your plan price never changes unless you choose to upgrade. If usage stays above double your allowance (1,000 minutes on Founding or Standard) for two months in a row and you don’t want to upgrade or narrow forwarding, we may end the plan with 30 days’ notice and no further charges.

Refunds

If your receptionist isn't live within 10 business days of receiving your setup answers, we refund your first payment in full. Otherwise, payments already made aren't refunded, but you can cancel at any time and won't be billed again. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll fix it within two business days.

Terms of service

Old Vine Studio sets up, configures and tunes AI receptionist software for your business, based on the information you give us. The receptionist takes job requests and passes them to you; it never books or confirms appointments on its own unless you tell us to offer windows you choose. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for approving your greeting, and for meeting call-recording and consent rules where you operate; every greeting we write includes a recording notice. AI can make mistakes, so please review the requests and summaries you receive. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. These terms are governed by California law. We may update these terms with 30 days' notice by email. Text messages follow our SMS terms below: message frequency varies, msg & data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out at any time.

Privacy

We collect only what we need to run your service: your business details, contact email, the mobile number you choose for texts, the setup answers you send, and call summaries or transcripts from your receptionist. Callers' information is used only to deliver job requests to you. We don't sell or share your data except with the providers that run the service (the receptionist software, Stripe for payments, and email and text delivery). The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent: this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use your mobile number only to send the texts you asked for, and we keep a record of when and how you agreed. We never see or store your full card number. Email us any time to see or delete your data.
